The Volkswagen ID.3

For two Super Bowls in a row now, electric vehicle (EV) commercials have been a consistent feature.

That is only one sign that the future of the automobile world is electric.

At Neil Huffman Volkswagen in Louisville, Ky, we have been excitedly tracking Volkswagen’s progress in the electric vehicle race.

We are more than confident that Volkswagen will be a major player in the electric vehicle market because its first step forward, in the form of the Volkswagen ID.3, is a stellar and innovative offering.

This is a vehicle that Subaru has consistently been improving since its  debut a few years ago. We expect the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3 to be the best electric vehicle this year because of the specs that Volkswagen has released thus far, which we will detail for you.

Why the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3 Will Be the Top EV This Year

For many current and potential EV drivers, perhaps the biggest point of interest in an EV is the range that it can reach

Volkswagen is committed to offering EVs with incredible range, with the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3 including the 58KWh Pro Performance feature.

In quick charge mode, this vehicle can reach up to 100 kW performance.

The second most important feature for EV buyers is charge time. The truth about electric vehicles is that “fueling” up is simply not the same as it is with gas vehicles.

For Volkswagen, their competitive charge time ensures that you can get up to 180 miles of driving with just a 30 minute charge. A full charge gets you up to 265 miles.

Safety is another key feature of the Volkswagen brand, and with the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3, you can certainly enjoy some outstanding safety features. One such feature is the optional IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlights. These adaptable headlights can withstand tough weather conditions, and are improved by Dynamic Light Assist.

Volkswagen drivers are known for being adventurous, and upgrading to an electric vehicle means that you can still let your travel instincts dictate your driving with the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3. This vehicle is spacious, allowing for plenty of comfort for the passengers and space to fit their cargo.

Performance is also another concern for electric vehicle buyers. One of the great things about electric vehicles is that acceleration is much improved when you go electric. With the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3, you can take advantage of rear-wheel drive that provides immediate power to you the instant you put your foot on the pedal.

If you have any questions for us about our new or used vehicle inventory, be sure to contact us today and we will help you find what you are looking for.

Volkswagen has always been known to welcome innovation and progress.

So, it makes sense that Volkswagen would be front and center in the electric vehicle race.

Fuel vehicles will be phased out of automakers’ production lines within the coming decades. Whether you are team EV or a skeptic, the reality is that EVs will become the norm. Electrified automobiles will soon become the only choice for consumers looking to buy new cars.

One of the ways Volkswagen is leading the EV push is by offering customers a great all-electric SUV, with an unbeatable 3-year charging offer, which we’ll detail below.

2023 Volkswagen ID.4

This fully-electric vehicle offers plenty of great tech features in its interior.

It charges from 10% to 80% in 30 to 36 minutes. It has an estimated range of 275 miles.

Buying a 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 can net you three years of unlimited 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America

Benefits of Driving an Electric Volkswagen Vehicle

If you watched the 2023 Super Bowl, you saw plenty of electric vehicle ads that stressed these vehicles’ ability to reach long distances, and the appeal of charging.

However, there are many more benefits to consider as well, which we’ll detail below.

Electric motors can achieve instant torque at 0 rpm, allowing for faster takeoffs.

You can also save big on an electric vehicle if you qualify for tax credits, which can help you save up to $7,500*.

Some states allow EVs access to high-occupancy vehicle lanes, which can save you time on your commutes.

If you want a home charger, you may be eligible for rebates for a charger.

Batteries are also designed for longevity, with most manufacturers offering an 8-year, or 100,000-mile, warranty for batteries.

The big draw for many is that low emissions is better for the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average passenger fuel vehicle emits 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year.

This is significant, because it contributes to “the greenhouse effect”, where carbon dioxide lingers in the earth’s atmosphere, letting heat in from without, but not letting heat outside of the earth’s atmosphere. So, the atmospheric layer of carbon dioxide that fuel vehicles contribute to functions much like greenhouse glass that traps heat.

You’ll save big on oil and fluid changes, as electric vehicles require less moving parts.

Oh, and you save plenty of money that would otherwise be going to gas.

Charging Stations Will Be the Next Gas Stations

For many people curious about EVs, the worry is that charging an EV may be a challenge.

However, there is no need to worry, as electric charging stations are becoming more and more common. In fact there are already close to 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S.A.

If you can afford it, you can get an individual charging station, which 130,000 people have already invested in.

Will Shell, BP, Chevron, et al be folding now that charging stations are expanding nationwide, while fuel cars are slowly but surely being phased out of the marketplace?

If your intuition is yes, consider that the manufacturers of fuel vehicles are now making electric vehicles. You can be certain that those gas station chains will be converting to electric charging stations in the future.

So, there will be more than enough charging stations in the country to get you through your EV road trips in the coming years.

2023 Volkswagen Arteon

Here at Neil Huffman Volkswagen in Louisville, Ky, we are very excited to be offering our customers the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon.

While there are plenty of sedans that come out each year, this one stands out for being a family sedan that manages to look as stylish and sporty as other sedans on the market.

One look at its sleek bumper and grille will tell you that this is not your typical family sedan. Its spacious interior is almost a well-kept secret to any passerby.

And that’s just how it looks. Read on for some of the standout features of this vehicle.

Best Features of the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon

300 horsepower may not seem typical for a family sedan, but as we said, the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon is a next-level sedan.

This yields 295-ft torque. Higher torque ensures that there is a quicker response time between the gas pedal being pressed and the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine’s response. One of the key benefits of this is smoother traction.

Throw in a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and you are looking at a pretty smooth ride.

Volkswagen’s driver assistance technology, IQ.DRIVE, will keep the whole family safe on the road.

IQ.DRIVE includes Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, and Lane Assist.

All this and more explains why the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon won IHSS’s 2022 TOP SAFETY PICK+.

Who Is the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon for?

The 2023 Volkswagen Arteon is what is considered a “family sedan”, meaning it has plenty of cargo and seating space in a traditional 5-seat vehicle. Meaning, your children will enjoy sitting in the back of this vehicle.

Its interior is designed for keeping a family comfortable. Wireless charging can also keep devices up and running during a long family trip.

As far as space goes, this car is actually a hatchback, so storing family necessities such as sports gear is made convenient.

In short, if you are looking for a sedan that exists in the intersection of family-appropriate, sporty, and luxury, then consider the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon.

2023 Volkswagen Arteon Price

The MSRP of the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon is $43,010.

Of course, that price goes up with different trims. For instance, the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon SEL Premium R-Line will run you $50,570.

However, you are sure to find a great deal if you keep in touch with Neil Huffman Volkswagen, where you may find a used 2023 Volkswagen Arteon at a lower price.

Looking for a mid-size SUV that will serve you well over the long run? The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is the car to spring for.

We here at Neil Huffman Volkswagen know there is a lot to love in this vehicle, and are excited to offer it to any customer in the market for a truly versatile mid-size SUV.

For one, the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas has the lowest cost of maintenance among mid-size SUVs.

Read on to learn some of the reasons that the 2023 Volkswagen Atlas has become such a hit with car reviewers, including Consumer Reports, which recommends this vehicle

Built for Any Road

Many people in the market for a mid-size SUV have multiple uses for it, such as transporting a family to after-school activities and going somewhere adventurous for a weekend getaway.

Being mid-size, this car offers the perfect compromise between the roominess of full-size SUVs and the smoother performance of smaller sedans. Not to mention that it is also aesthetically pleasing, with a sporty exterior that speaks to strength rather than bulk.

The hatch to the trunk can be opened from a distance via a remote-powered liftgate—just press the button on your key and see the results. Loading your belongings into the spacious 96.8 cubic feet of cargo space (when the rear seats are folded down) is made that much more convenient with this feature.

Buckle Up and Relax

With the seats up, you can seat up to seven passengers. With plenty of space to stretch out and a 3-zone automatic climate control that allows passengers to find their preferred sweet spots, even the most travel-averse passenger will be comfortable. Parents may go entire trips without once hearing “are we there yet?”

A panoramic sunroof keeps light in the car, while LED lights can keep the cabin well-lit through the night. Wireless charging and a Fender Premium Audio System can up your drive’s entertainment value with your playlist. And, with the App-Connect feature, you can mirror your phone’s Spotify or Apple Music app on the car’s touchscreen display.

If you are behind the wheel, there is a “digital cockpit” screen that will offer you real-time updates on driving conditions while tracking your progress on a virtual road map. The placement of this full-screen navigation display makes it easier to quickly check if you are on track. This is much easier—not to mention safer—than having to handle a smartphone’s GPS app while you drive.

Driving will be made even better with the Volkswagen driver assistance system IQ.Drive , which offers adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, lane assist, and other great safety and attention-monitoring features that will make every drive as smooth as possible.

At 20,000 miles ($194.95*), we still rotate your tires and conduct an engine oil and filter replacement, and our multipoint inspection also covers transmission fluid, the spare tire, and the exhaust system. We can still drain water from the separator, if applicable.

We will also: lube door arresters, replace dust and pollen filter, check fault memory, inspect front axle and suspension components, adjust headlamps (if needed), and top off all fluids.

The 40,000 mile ($509.95*) package is a step up, as it provides service to your vehicle at a crucial point along its journey.

Here, we will replace your vehicle’s spark plugs (except 2.0, 4.2 and 3.6), replace the air cleaner, drain water from separator (if applicable), and lubricate turbo servo motor rods (if applicable), and replace the fuel filter (TDI only).

You also get the basic-needs services as well, as we will replace your car’s engine oil and filter, rotate its tires, and perform a multipoint inspection that will cover transmission fluid, the exhaust system, belts, wiper blades, underbody, and even the spare tire.

There’s more: We will lube the door arresters, replace the dust and pollen filter, check fault memory, inspect front axle and suspension components, adjust headlamps if needed, and top off all fluids.

Our 60,000 mile ($549.95*) offering is the most complete service package available.

Your engine and brakes are priorities for us here, so we inspect your car’s fuel lines and brake lines as well as flushing the brake system and flushing coolant. Further, we inspect brake pads, calipers, axle boots, and steering linkage to ensure your ride is as safe as possible.

We will replace your vehicle’s engine oil and filter, rotate and machine-balance the tires, and perform a multipoint inspection including transmission fluid, exhaust system, belts, wiper blades, underbody and spare tire. Tightening chassis bolts and inspecting suspension components are also included.

Additionally, we will: drain water from separator (if applicable), lube the door arresters, replace the dust and pollen filter, check fault memory, inspect the front axle and suspension components, adjust headlamps if needed, top off all fluids, and replace the air filter.

Finally, our 80,000 mile ($509.95*) service package will keep your vehicle going strong into the six-figure mileage range.

As always, we replace the engine oil and filter and do a tire rotation, along with a multipoint inspection that covers transmission fluid, exhaust system, belts, wiper blades, underbody, and spare tire.

If your Volkswagen vehicle has a TDI engine, we will replace the fuel filter to give your engine more longevity.

If applicable, we will drain water from the fuel-water separator and lubricate turbo servo motor rods.

Your vehicle will be more safe to drive after we adjust headlamps (if needed), replace brake fluid (we top off all fluids), inspect the front axle and suspension components, and replace the dust and pollen filter.

We also replace spark plugs (except 2.0, 4.2 and 3.6) and lube door arresters.

Individual Services for Your Vehicle

Even if your vehicle is not at those mileage milestones, you can still get services “à la carte”.

Our coolant flush ($159.95) includes an inspection of the radiator, heater, transmission cooling lines and all hoses. We’ll power-flush the old coolant (which may have flakes and bits from your vehicle mixed in, thereby threatening your system), treat your system with coolant conditioner, then refill with new coolant.

A brake flush ($162.95*) not only replaces your brake fluid, but we will inspect your brake pads, calipers, slide pins, boots, and parking brake cables, ensuring that your ride will be as safe as ever once your leave our lot.

Tire-rotation and machine-balancing wheels ($39.95*) will keep you safe on the road, especially after we inspect your tire condition for any potential problems.

4-Wheel Alignment ($102.00*) ensures that your steering will be as smooth as possible after we computer-align all four wheels, adjust the camber, and toe and reset to optimum specs. Additionally, we inspect front and rear suspension, tie rods, knuckles and the trailing arm.

We offer both synthetic ($51.95*) and conventional ($47.95*) oil services, where we drain all oil, replace filter with factory cartridge, top off fluids, inspect drain plug and replace oil with either full synthetic or conventional product.

In the automotive industry, cooperation and collaboration is key to ensuring that any car goes from the design stage to the lots of dealerships, such as Neil Huffman Volkswagen in Louisville, KY.

This aspect of the industry is well demonstrated in one of the most significant and exciting partnerships in recent memory: Volkswagen teaming up with Umicore for the manufacturing of batteries.

This joint venture, the first of its kind in the European auto market, is worth nearly $3 billion and marks a major effort for Europe’s burgeoning battery industry.

What Is Umicore?

Umicore is a Belgian materials technology company that is dedicated to finding sustainable methods for developing, producing, and recycling materials.

How Will Umicore Help Volkswagen?

Specifically, Umicore will help Volkswagen in the production of precursor (the starting materials for battery production) and cathode (the positive side of the battery) materials.

With Umicore’s mission of making sure the production is environmentally-friendly, this will help Volkswagen achieve the goal of continuing to create their great line of vehicles in a green way.

Volkswagen has promised that 70% of their output will be electric vehicles by 2030, so this deal will certainly be instrumental in helping the company reach that goal.

Why Is This Deal Significant?

Battery materials tend to be sourced from around the world, but with this new partnership, much of the German automaker’s battery production will be closer to home, with certain above-mentioned parts of battery manufacturing for Volkswagen now taking place in Europe.

This partnership alone is expected to produce enough battery materials to power up to 2.2 million full electric vehicles

The responsible sourcing for raw materials is something that is of concern for a number of countries across the world, so this joint venture will play a large role in creating a circular battery economy.

What Is a Circular Battery Economy?

The term “circular economy” refers to a method of materials production wherein waste is reduced by squeezing as much life out of each material as possible.

This is done through reusing and recycling materials.

It is called “circular” not because certain batteries are shaped like circles, but because the goal is to keep materials essential for battery production circulating for as long as possible.

What Does This Mean for the Future of Volkswagen?

If you are interested in buying a Volkswagen, either as a long-time customer or a first-time buyer, what this means for you is that you will be seeing more electric vehicles on the Neil Huffman Volkswagen lot.

As always, you can find the best new and used Volkswagen vehicles at Neil Huffman Volkswagen, and at the best prices.

This SUV gets an average combined 18 mpg and is perfect for families, as there is more than enough passenger space for a sizable family. If you have an active family life that involves a lot of transportation and necessitates cargo space, then this is the vehicle for you.

2014 Volkswagen Passat V6 SEL Premium: A High-Quality Used 4-Door Sedan at a Low Cost

At Neil Huffman Volkswagen, we are always glad to help our customers find the vehicle that best fits their needs, whether they are looking for a used sedan under $15,000 or a new SUV at a great price

Making the right choice, however, can sometimes be difficult, as there can often be a number of factors influencing the choice of one vehicle over the other.

This year, we have helped many customers choose between two of the most highly-anticipated SUVs released this year: the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

Two great options, but the difference between these two SUVs go beyond the addition of the name “Cross Sport.” There is certainly more to it than the name, as you will see below.

Which Car Is Right for You?

Before going into the precise details, here is the main difference that you should be aware of: The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas is larger, and is fit to play the role of a family-size SUV, boasting three rows.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, on the other hand, is a mid-size SUV with two rows, and so will appeal to drivers who want a safe and high-performing SUV without the extra size.

Fold the seats down of the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas, and you get 96 cubic feet of space for storage. Fold the seats down of the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, and you get 77 cubic feet, which is certainly enough space for a long-distance trip.

The differences do not just stop at the lifestyle of the driver, as there are other key things to consider.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport has the edge in fuel economy, no doubt due to its smaller size, getting 20 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.

The 2022 Volkswagen Atlas gets 17 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

However, there are still plenty of similarities between the two: 18-inch wheels, smart windshield wipers that can detect rain, and an infotainment system boasting seamless Bluetooth audio streaming and two charging ports for phones, are just a few of the similarities.

As far as performance goes, both vehicles have a 2L 4-cylinder turbo engine that reaches 235 horsepower and 258 lb/ft torque. On higher trim levels, you can get a 3.6L V6 engine that hits a stellar 276 horsepower and 266 lb/ft torque.

Overall, both the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport are great vehicles for anyone looking for a great SUV.

We recommend that buyers looking for a bigger, roomier vehicle, better fit for families, to spring for the former, and that buyers looking for something more compact and sportier to go for the latter.

Either way, you will be making a great choice at Neil Huffman Volkswagen!

Make the Right Choice for You at Neil Huffman Volkswagen

Volkswagen, which translates to “people’s car”, has made a string of announcements lately that expresses its commitment to become the American people’s car.

The automaker that is perhaps best known for its luxury vans has chosen to focus so strongly on the American market because they believe it is their best opportunity for growth.

We here at Neil Huffman Volkswagen are happy to hear that Volkswagen is going to be giving increased attention to American customers, because American customers are our customers.

The Goals of Volkswagen

One of the Volkswagen big end-of-decade goals is to increase their current 4% market share up to 10%. It is ambitious, especially with all of the national and international competition already vying for Americans’ attention and money, but Volkswagen has more than just a dream here: they have a strategy.

That strategy involves a number of things, including focusing on the classic American styles of cars, such as pickup trucks and large SUVs.

Playing a Part in the Electric Vehicle Revolution

Another thing Volkswagen has set its sights on is becoming a major force in the electric cars market, which is another aspect of the American car market that is slowly but surely becoming a popular option among drivers. For instance, the brand-new Volkswagen ID.4 is one of this year’s most talked-about EVs among enthusiasts.

That ID.4 starts production in August, in the Volkswagen production plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Though the majority of car makers, including Volkswagen, are still creating hybrid and fuel vehicles for the foreseeable future, there is still a general trend towards creating electric vehicles (EVs) that every current or potential car owner ought to realize.

For those who can afford it, Volkswagen electric vehicles are cars that you can take around the whole country, given the expanding network of charging stations that have been popping up all over the nation

But that’s not all—in addition, Volkswagen is also reviving the classic Scout lineup, which has a multitude of serious car fans talking.

What is the Scout, and Why is Volkswagen Reviving It?

Originally manufactured by truck and tractor manufacturer International Harvester, the Scout brand has come to be associated with mid-20th century Americana, long road trips in a family station wagon through farm-side highways where tractors work the land in their serene unhurried pace, the kids in the backseats waving to the farmer.

Volkswagen has created a new company with the name Scout in the hope that they can capture the simple and rugged aesthetic of the pickup trucks and SUVs that Scout, and American drivers, well represent.

To put a precise number to that hope, Volkswagen is hoping to sell about 250,000 Scouts every year in America. It is currently unknown whether these new-generation Scouts will be sold outside of the U.S.

This will also mean job growth here in the states, as these Scout factories will likely be here in the United States.

Check out Neil Huffman Volkswagen for more updates on the world of Volkswagen, or to buy or sell a Volkswagen. For other non-Volkswagen vehicles, be sure to reach out to us at Neil Huffman, and we can help you find the car for you!

ID.Buzz

Who else but Volkswagen, the automobile world’s king of all eye-catching vans since at least the 1960s, could garner so much hype for an all-electric minibus?

The answer is, well, no one but Volkswagen could be the subject of so much attention for this eagerly awaited model.

Though pop culture has perennially associated the famed Volkswagen bus with hippies and phrases like “flower power,” the ID.Buzz has a legitimate claim to be a favorite of the environmentally conscious, hippies or not, due to the fact that it is going to be one of the first all-electric vans hitting the market, making Volkswagen an innovator in that field.

Read on for a rundown of what is currently known, and what is yet to be revealed, about this much-anticipated EV (electric vehicle).

Battery Life

Since the future owners of the ID.Buzz will be stopping at the thousands-and-growing number of EV stations around the country instead of gas stations, it is imperative for prospective buyers to know what the battery life will look like for this electric van.

The U.S. models of the ID.Buzz can be expected to have a larger battery than European models, which already have a solid 77-kWh. As far as charging goes, Volkswagen has claimed that the car can go from 5% to 80% charged within thirty minutes. American ID.Buzz models are also expected to get about 260 miles per charge.

The Exterior

As always, Volkswagen has gone with a retro look, which is as much a part of their vans’ brand at this point as the logo itself. A sliding door will be the standard option here, and the All-Wheel Drive feature ensures that this van will be worth more than what it looks.

Inside the Van

Though significant changes have happened under the hood, you can expect the same roomy and comfortable interior that has long been a signature feature of the Volkswagen bus.

Different models of the Buzz can fit anywhere from 5 to 7 people (the larger version is expected to hit US car lots).

Even if the exterior of the vehicle is an aesthetic throwback to the 1960s, you can bet that the interior is much more technologically advanced than models from that era.

One such feature is a 10- or 12-inch screen equipped with a GPS and media system, bringing a higher standard of infotainment than anyone on a cross-country drive to Woodstock ever had access to.

More Tech Advancements

A big feature of the ID.Buzz will be the Memory Function, which automates parking on pre-saved routes, making parking an easier experience in a fairly large vehicle.

The Volkswagen Travel Assist feature will also gather data from across the Internet to give you real-time updates about hazards, weather changes, and road conditions.

Buying the 2024 ID.Buzz

The ID.Buzz has yet to hit the markets, and the price has not been disclosed yet. However, we here at Neil Huffman Volkswagen will be closely following the news on this vintage-looking modern EV, so don’t hesitate to reach out about the ID.Buzz or any other new or used Volkswagen cars!
